How to use the brief
Turn a buying target into a cleaner first search
The generator is a planning aid. It does not replace reviewing the first matches. Use it to create a sensible starting point, then tune one rule at a time once Classifindr shows which listings were included or filtered.
Start with language a seller is likely to use, then add buyer-specific requirements separately. A phone search might need model, storage, battery health, and unlocked terms. A tool search might need battery platform, bare-tool wording, kit contents, and charger details. Keeping those decisions separate makes it easier to see which rule helped and which rule removed useful matches.
Good targets
Exact models, budget ranges, brand families, local pickup searches, rentals, tools, phones, cars, and furniture searches all work well.
Common exclusions
Wanted, swap, parts only, repair, case, charger, hire, already leased, and sold are useful only when they truly do not fit the hunt.

Example planning flow
For a used laptop alert, the first brief might include the model family, screen size, processor, RAM, storage, price ceiling, and pickup area. Exclusions might include parts, broken, charger only, and wanted, but only after those terms appear in poor matches. For a rental alert, the brief should focus on suburb, budget, room type, availability date, and terms that usually point to short stays or already leased listings. Different searches deserve different rules, and this page is meant to make those choices explicit before the alert starts running.
